Tantito Trading Corp is a Canadian company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We import specialty green coffee from Mexico and roast it here in Canada, because we believe Mexican coffee deserves a much bigger place in the world's cups.
Why Mexico
Mexico grows extraordinary coffee, from the organic highlands of Chiapas to the cloud forests of Veracruz and the remote mountains of Oaxaca. Yet outside Mexico it is still underrated, often sold as an anonymous blend component. We want roasters and coffee lovers in Canada to know Mexican coffee by region, by producer practice and by flavour.
Two companies, one chain
Tantito works on both ends of the journey. Tantito México sources and exports coffee at origin; Tantito Trading Corp imports, stores, roasts and sells it in Canada. Owning both links means we know where every lot comes from, keep quality consistent from farm to roastery, and can source coffee from almost any Mexican farm when a customer asks.
Proudly Canadian
We are 100% Canadian-owned, our stock is in Vancouver, and our roasted coffee is roasted in Canada. Our customers get a local partner with direct access to Mexico.
What "tantito" means
In Mexican Spanish, tantito means "just a little bit", as in "just a little bit more coffee." It is how we think about coffee: one more cup, shared.
