Veracruz, on Mexico's Gulf coast, is where coffee first took root in the country. Grown at roughly 800 to 1,500 metres around Coatepec, Xalapa, Huatusco and Córdoba, Veracruz coffee is usually washed and tastes clean and bright, with nutty sweetness and light floral notes.
Growing conditions
Mountain slopes near the Pico de Orizaba and Cofre de Perote volcanoes, with a misty cloud-forest climate. Harvest runs from November to February.
Flavour profile
Hazelnut, cocoa, orange and light florals, with a bright acidity and medium body.
